Hunghom Urban Park (Phase 2) officially opened on the 18th of this month. Together with Phase 1, which opened in February 2024, the entire park, covering an area of about 6,600 square meters, is now fully open, offering citizens more leisure and entertainment options. Hunghom Urban Park is located on WASHIN Street, next to the Hunghom Ferry Pier. Phase 1 features a retired fire engine display area, a fitness area for the elderly, pavilions, and a multi-purpose lawn with diverse sports and recreational facilities catering to people of all ages. The newly opened Phase 2 introduces additional amenities such as a balancing bike path, a green area, and restrooms.
To celebrate the full opening of Hunghom Urban Park, the Development Bureau and the Waterfront Commission will host the park's first summer fun event, "Hunghom Urban Park - Waterfront Fun." The event will be held from 26 to 28 July (Saturday to Monday) and is completely free of charge, inviting citizens to join this vibrant interactive waterfront festival to kickstart a lively summer vacation!
The event encourages citizens to explore every corner of Hunghom Urban Park through a range of dynamic and creative experiences, allowing them to fully enjoy the summer outdoors. A variety of engaging activities will be offered, including balancing bike trials, giant inflatable bowling, inflatable archery, creative production experiences, a waterfront exploration exhibition, and a Dream Come True Half-and-Half Playground experience area. In addition, there will be unique inflatable photo spots perfect for families to enjoy memorable happy moments together. Participants who engage in interactive games and creative experiences will have the chance to win small gifts, allowing them to fully appreciate the revitalized waterfront charm of Hunghom Urban Park and embrace this vibrant summer.
【6 Major Interactive Fun Experiences】
Zone 1 | Multi-Sensory Balancing Bike Mini Racetrack
A small loop racetrack has been specially set up in the center of the park. This activity adds visual obstacles, sound effects, and tactile zones, enhancing the excitement and challenge for 3 to 7-year-old children to experience balancing bikes like never before. Professional instructors will provide guidance, and protective gear, including helmets and knee pads, will be provided. Beginners are welcome to join.
Zone 2 | Giant Inflatable Bowling for a Home Run
This zone features 1.5-meter-tall giant inflatable bowling pins. Participants use "giant bowling balls" to knock down the inflatable pins, aiming for a "home run." This exciting game is suitable for all ages and perfect for taking photos.
Zone 3 | Inflatable Archery Challenge
Participants can experience a safe and thrilling archery competition in the park, testing their accuracy and reaction skills with inflatable bows and arrows. This activity is open to all, allowing everyone to enjoy the unique fun of archery and happy moments!
Zone 4 | Creative Production Experience: Quick Portrait Sketching + Eco-friendly Perfume Bag Workshop
1. Quick Portrait Sketching Experience: Local quick sketch artists will draw participants' portraits on-site, with the option of a waterfront background. In just a few minutes, you'll have a unique memento of your time at Hunghom Urban Park.
2. Eco-friendly Perfume Bag Workshop: Handcraft an organic mosquito-repelling perfume bag using natural mosquito-repelling powder, and decorate it with summer patterns. Both practical and creative!
Zone 5 | Waterfront Exploration Exhibition
The exhibition will introduce Hunghom Urban Park and seven other "Waterfront Shared Spaces" along Victoria Harbour. It will also feature a creative mirror installation, allowing citizens to learn about various waterfront venues and take photos with the harbor view as the backdrop.
Zone 6 | Dream Come True Half-and-Half Playground Experience Area
Playright Children's Play Association will present a unique gaming experience with its "Half-and-Half Playground" concept, where they create half of the playground, and children take over the other half, using a variety of materials and tools to combine, add, subtract, merge, dismantle, and embody adventure challenges, children's empowerment, and continuous transformation.
Other Fun Photo Spots:
Giant Inflatable Photo Spot
The venue will feature multiple large inflatable installations themed around sports elements, such as dumbbells, kettlebells, and balancing bikes, creating a lively summer atmosphere and becoming the most eye-catching photo hotspot in the park.
Summer "Fun" Gacha Machine
To encourage active participation, those who complete three or more different experiences during the three-day event will get a chance to turn the Gacha machine. Inside is a question about the waterfront, and those who answer correctly will receive a beautiful gift. (Gifts are available while stocks last, on a first-come, first-served basis)
